JEANNETTE NICKELSON
A lifelong passion for art has been my inspiration: from my earliest childhood paintings to a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University, to a 28 year career as a public school Art teacher in Jefferson County, Colorado.
The paintings in my current work are from my photographic observations of Colorado and my travels to other states and countries.
The interaction between color, light, shadow and atmosphere and their combined effects compel me to experiment and explore. Recently, dramatic lighting and the resulting reflections of colored light have been my focus, continuing to fascinate me and provide the direction for my work.
